The gray spots aren't making him feel old, his AGE is making him feel old. Changing his hair color will do nothing to help him, and you definitely should not try.

I think he would appreciate it if you researched how to care for a senior labrador, and gave him the proper medical/emotional/physical attention needed...and not worry about his appearence. He doesn't worry about what he looks like.

You can dye them, though I personally like when people use natural dyes (henna or something) because it's less toxic, or when people get dye jobs at the salon, because the stylists protect your scalp from carcinogenic chemicals in dyes, and they know when to remove the dyes so that your hair doesn't thin/fall out as fast.

It'll be fine, as long as you touch up your roota now and again, cos u wouldnt wanna have dark blonsish roots and jet black hair LOL :) it might take you a while to get used to the darkness, it did me, and my hair was already dark brown

Hi! I'm twenty years old and a current college student. I was blonde all my life until I dyed my hair a dark brown/red about nine months ago. I really liked it, but I would like some insight on what to do next. I know that I would rather not go back to blonde (still trying new things), and I want a hair color that would look good with my eyes and skin tone (I'm very pale with light blue/gray eyes). I know you said you tried an iron, but before you get it chemically relaxed, I would suggest going to a beauty product store (NOT a grocery store or anything that doesn't SPECIALIZE in beauty) and finding the best iron. I would recommend ceramic or ionic. The ionic ones can get up to $80, and the ceramic one I have is $40, but it is so worth it cuz it works so well. Also try using a straightening gel or spray when you use the iron, that should help too. If you do decide to get it relaxed, DON'T do it yourself, go to a stylist. Tell your mom you would rather have it professionally done than risk hurting it, and that you have tried everything! Maybe if you make a point to pay for it yourself she will compromise with you. It's possible. My mom has the same hair. Curly. frizzy... The white woman's afro, pretty much. They can do it. She gets it permed monthly. Then she straightens it daily. I have naturally board straight hair, and with the straight perm and the treatments, which condition her hair to keep it soft and moisturized, it looks like mine. They can do it. You just have to get the right shampoos and conditioners. You should also get hair treatments done every few months.

Buy a CERAMIC straightener. Not a metal one. Metal ones fry your hair. The ceramic ones don't.

before trying anything drastic try straightening it w/ the Ultra Chi Ceramic Iron. i'm 14 and i have extremely curly, frzzy, hair too. but i'm not white. my parents are from india. so try that first, cause you don't want to lose all your hair or damage it beyond repair. it takes me a good hour and half. and actually right now i'm looking into easystraight. but if it takes you less than that then just stick to the iron. i'm just trying to find something different to cut down my time.

ok my hair used to look just like your saying your looked and i had a stylist that also would not do mine so i me and my mom found someone else it is not the best ides to perminately get it straighten but your stylist can do a relaxor mine is by CHI but you stylist may use another i will not damage your hair and if yoru stylist know what he or she is doing it will work now keep in mind that when you wach and dry your hair it will look the same culry frizzy hair but what this does is makes it soooooo much easier to straighten it used to take me 2 hours to do mine now it only takes about 15 mins one more thing if you get your hair highlighted or colored or anything you have to wait about a month before getting it highlighted something to do with the chemicals if you do it too close together it is not good for your hair

There are ways to straighten curly hair...I would recommend a relaxer. I am not sure what the ladies were showing you, but if you want your hair not to be dry try a hot oil treatment, or a deep conditioner at least once a week, also to straighten it make sure you are putting product on it. You are most likely drying it out, causing it to be worse when you straighten it, without product on it, also use a professional shampoo and conditioner to let with anti-frizz.

Why don't you just get some wrap lotion and blow dry your hair yourself. It may not be permanent, but it should work and you can save the bulk of your money.

Wash your hair with a detangling shampoo %26amp; use a good conditioner. After you rinse the conditioner out, while the hair is still damp, apply the wrap lotion and blow your hair dry. It should come out nice and straight without the high cost of a salon style.

I have tried numerous products but seem to be allergec to them, as my skin gets red,

burning, and itchy.

I have tried - "Just for men beard and mustache", "Clarol for men", Henna, and Henna creme.

The Henna did not irritate my skin, but didnt cover the gray.

The other products I mentioned worked, but again my skin was red, burning, itchy.

If you could reccommend ANYTHING, I would greatly appreciate it.There are so many products on the market that I

Go to a cosmetic counter at your local deparment store and go to Lancome. They have a type of mascara for eyebrows that works for mustaches as well. It is hypoallergenic, so it shouldn't bother your skin.

*for one to get the light blonde streaks u need to go to sallys beauty supply and get the clariol bleaching kit..its the only thing that will lift so its reeally blonde..ask the employee for everything you will need.

*for the base color..id try a reeally light loking blonde at the store..you want to go a little lighter then what you want becuz remeber it doesnt turn out the exact color on the box.

now to do your hair

*the base color is easy..you basically cover your hole head as if you wer shanpooing it..makin sure u get behind your ears and the very back.

*the streaks are a little harder on your own..but i hav donw mine long enought to know tho//

after you wash the base color out and hav ur hair dried ..clip the top half of your hair up and pick the streaks one by one and put the color on them ( i would ask a friend to help to get the back of your head)..make sure you space them out..and remeber it may notl look like alot but once to wash them out its much more streaks then u thought!

If you're used to getting it done in a salon, I'd keep doing it. It's hard to get that kind of result from a box. But if you're feeling brave, go for it. Since you want to lighten, you'll have to be careful to not end up with brassy orange tones. You won't be able to go too much lighter than your natural color...box color won't lift that may levels. You really won't get highlights unless you do those separately. If parts of your hair are already highlighted, those might turn out a bit lighter after you color...if you're lucky. They could also soak up more of the color and be darker. Sorry to be so negative about it, but I've colored my own hair so many times and had to live with it or go get it fixed. The picture on the box is never what you end up with. I wish!

At 24, what treatment should I use for gray hairs scattered my dark brown hair?

Though there are not many gray hairs (maybe 1 to 5%), it's to the point when they are visible and makes me look older, and my hair--worse. What light treatment, that is not tough on hair, would you recommend?

My advise is to go to a hairdresser and get them to put a bleach wash on your hair (not as drastic as it sounds), to lift out the ash tones. You will be left with the lightened hair without the grey.

There are all kinds of products that you can put in your hair and the sun activates them %26amp; lightens your hair. It may just wash out or fade out over time, but it will take just that time. Even the products that are made to lighten in the sun take more than just one day for a few hours. Also you never know how they will react to the color already on your hair.

Thanks for people answering my question now its part 2. For the people who think I am nixed Every one in my family down the lines are black. Maybe 200 years back in slave times yeah I might be mixed. But my eyes are naturally Hazel/Green with Black hair. My Unlce has Gray eyes and he is darker then me. My father has Hazel eyes and my mother has Brown eyes. Black were captured and were bought over here by Europeans so that is likely why we have different color eyes. But there are some tribes in Africa that have red, blonde, brown, hair. Also with eyes, I have a cousin who has reddish brown eyes. They are red. So I don't know why people are Ignorant when everyone take history in schools. And know what blacks have been through. It ashame to see when other black people try to tell some one they have contacts or ask if they do. Knowing were we come form and how we got here in America in the first place.

Maybe people think so because 99.5% of black people have black (dark brown) eyes. This is because if u have a black person (with black eyes) mating with a person with light eyes, the chances are that they are going to get the darker gene for anything. Darker eyes are a good defence machenism against the strong sun, which is why it is the stronger gene because it is better for you.The same with darker skin. Black people come from hot climates, so they are going to adapt to theyre climate. Hair colour has nothing to do with adapting to the climate, so yeah you find blondes and red heads everywhere.

Why are you so offended by the way? It's like you think they are being racist by thinking black people can't have light eyes. Just be happy that you have green eyes, i love green eyes.

i agree doesn't matter really. My grandmother had bluish-green eyes, but her mom/grandmother were part cherokee. My mom and I have brown eyes with a grey ring around them who knows where that came from. We are all a little mixed up whether we want to accept it or not.

good for you! keep your length, long hair is sexy..... and guys like it! i would not dye it, dying hair ruins it eventually, it will get brittle and loose its vibrancy with a color not its own. Keep it blonde!! my hair is that color and i love it, ive never done anything to my hair except cut it.

I think you should dye your whole head a medium blonde/caramel color and then put some light blonde highlights (not FOILS!!!) though your hair and then ask the hairdresser for long layers with a long side-swept fringe.. The layers should give your hair some volume and a side fringe works wonders with thin hair.

What can I do to stop this?

my hair used to e bleach blonde. i was tired of dying my roots, and breaking my hair. i also want to grow my hair out. my natural color is a dark dark ash blonde. but i dont want the gray color. so i decided to dye it a dark golden brown. the lady at sallys told me that i should take out the red.. and gave me this little pouch to mix in the hair dye. i put the whole thing in..and it did take all the red out of it. my hair turned out brown. i went to get a new set of clip in hair extensions..and realized that my hair was gray/green. i went to a hair stylist, and they put the red back in my hair with a filler, and used a step 4. i had hot red roots, so they put in some brown filler on the roots. now my hair looks nearly black. i was told that the filler is semi permanent, and that it will wash out and lighten up. i hate this color. its to much of a shock. my hair is damaged from the blonde. he said the damaged hair wont hold the color and it'll wash out. is my hair dresser right? help!!!

you should have gone with a neutral blonde instead.

Its probably a genetic dominant trait. The black hair is the most dominant trait, however there are alot of mixed recessive genes too. In the future your children will probably have red, or blondish hair.

Maybe a change in the hardness of your water. Since your hair is lightening, probably a change from harder water to softer. Hard water leaves mineral deposits on hair that darken it.

It could also be genetic, my hair went from auburn to darker reddish brown at that age. Though water hardness was a factor in that too.

Hair generally darkens for a year or so before it turns gray, but that doesn't seem likely to be what's going on here.

Have you switched shampoos (maybe a new one removes old mineral deposits), bought a water softener, moved to a new area with softer water, done maintenance on a water softener in your home? Maybe even could be a change in your town's water if you live where you have town water.

My moms best friend went completely gray by the time she was 30. Her hair did not thin however. I don't think there is anything you can do about the graying besides dye it. I think it just happens to some people...as much as that sucks. I would be a tad worried about the thinning. It could be normal...it could also be a medical condition. Damaged Hair - Need Help!?

I have a major hair dilema and need some help please!

Been using gel (cheap drugstore stuff) and hairspray for years. Had hair died darker to cover grays at the salon a month ago, no lightening. I have curly, dry frizzy hair. That's why I always slick it back with the products. Washed and conditioned hair the other day. Put in my Aveda Hair Protector before blowdrying straight. Back of the hair came out okay and smooth but the front is all dry and sticky and looks very very damaged and like it was about to break off! I am mortified. I want to fix this. I washed it twice with shampoo to try and get and residue out and tested a piece at the front by blowdrying and same thing happened! What do I do? I want to start wearing it curly again, but I need to know how to help my poor damaged hair and what products to use to have nice curly hair?

Can someone offer some advice? I am very upset!

Honestly the first thing you should do is get a free consult with a professional and find out what they suggest after they assess the actual damage to your hair. It could be something as small and using a stripping shampoo and remoisturizing. Or, it could be something more intense...like needing a reconstructing conditioning treatments and hot oil. Whatever they suggest you need...you can either have them do it...or buy the product from them...( cheaper in the long run) and do it at home yourself. Bottomline....you need to use good professional product and stop using the cheap stuff in the store.

It sounds like your hair is a little overprocessed but not so bad that it can't be corrected with the proper products...:) Good luck.

i had my hair colored and it is breaking off to so i know how you feel first of all stop using the gel and go with a moisturizer ...get a good shampoo and conditioner you have to be willing to spend money on it..... wash and condition your hair every week ...sit under the dryer when conditioning hair.... when you moisturize your hair dont weight down by using too much ... Different salons have different prices...what I can tell you is that it's always cheaper for a guys hair because its usually really short. You can call around and get prices before scheduling an appointment. There are actually color lines out there that are especially for men that look really natural. With normal hair growth and if you are only going for gray coverage, I'd say you would have to retouch it probably every 4-6 weeks.

Find a salon that offers Color Camo by Redken. This is a specific hair color for men, that doesn't solidly cover your grey, but "camoflauges" it. Kind of puts the pepper back into the salt. I am one of those women who is on the fence when it comes to facial hair. Some look great with it and some look better without.

My husband has it and I had him shave it off once and it was strange. He didn't look like himself and he was very uncomfortable without it.

He was totally against shaving it. But I had proposed to him that if he shaved it once for me and he didn't like it I would never make him do it again. Needless to say he didn't like it one bit. Seeing how happy I was that he actually did it, and me seeing how unhappy he was that I had asked him to shave it in the first place. We came up with a compromise so we could both sorta have what we wanted...

He keeps his facial hair but it has to be kept maintained and on the shorter side. Works great because I still get to kiss his lips and he keeps his hair. Try something like that... It may surprise you both. He may wind up loving his look without the facial hair. If not try to compromise with your husband.
