The hair dye I know of (a major brand) requires mixing two ingredients, applying it, and waiting twenty minutes before washing it off and using a conditioner on it.
Anyone know a faster, permanent hair dye? This would be for a blonde, to conceal gray.

I had really light blonde hair and I was sick of the upkeep so i tried to dye it a darker blonde(champaign). It turned my hair gray! So then i tried to dye it again a medium blonde, it just turned it grayer. So then i tried again with another blonde and it looks better, but still not good. So now I don't know what to do. I hate my hair and i can't afford to go to a salon.

omfg! tht sux! umm the best advice i can give u is get sum hair dye removal stuff and if tht dont work, get like a lite to medium brown hair dye and dye it tht color and if THAT dont work just start washing ur hair with dishsoap and hopefully tht shld get the dye out soon enuff, not as fast bt it shld work...good luck!

i know that you don't like how it is right now, but you really damage your hair each time you dye it, so i would suggest leaving it the way it is for about a week. After that I would try using a bleaching cream, and then dying it the darker blonde and it should turn out to be like a medium-dark blonde. hope this helps!
go to sally beauty supply and buy conditioning packets!! Use a pack a day for 2 weeks..........keep it on your hair for atleast an hour!
use 100% olive oil to strip off the hair dye. It may take 2-3 treatments before you can re-dye your hair.
I can't believe some of these answers you are getting. Look, go to Sally Beauty and pick up a box of ColorFix. Use it exactly as it says on the box, it will loosen the color and it will wash out. Do NOT color your hair again for a few months after you do this. This should bring you back to the original light blonde color. If you want it a little darker, you can use a deposit only (like colorgloss) and add a little color back in. Your hair looks gray because the color you used had an ash base. You need something with a gold or neutral base.
The one mistake you've made was coloring your hair the darker blonde in the beginning. Because naturally the haircolor should only be lighten, or darken 1-2 shades at home. Now having really light blonde hair, in the beginning you should have went light/medium ash blonde. Considering you most likely have a cool skintone. But if you have a warmer skin tone you should have went light golden blonde. For warmer results. You tried to color your hair dark champaign blonde. That made your hair gray because you tried to color your hair 4-6 shades darker. Remember coloring your hair at home is always darker than what appeared on the box. Dying your hair medium blonde; of course its going to turn out grayer because you're hair is over-processed. What was the new haircolor you recently colored. You probably attempted to go lighter. You mentioned something you about cannot afford to go to a salon. I recommend going to a salon. It cost around $60-80 or more judging by the location of the salon. Mastercuts in the mall is about the cheapest place I know. To get your haircolor corrected. If I was you I would attempt going to a salon because your hair is greatly damaged you would only suffer more if you color again at home. THis is tough, i did this before and now its why i have a hair stylist i go to and LOVE. I had a bad experience with the color removal stuff, it stripped my color out of my hair (dark plumb, dont ask why) but it didnt go back to the normal blond color, it made it a nasty orange with weird streaks in it. This is what i bought from a Sally Beauty Supply, and followed the directions on the box. I think that is different stuff the reply before me mentioned, so you might want to give her suggestion a try. GOOD LUCK! or contact a local hair salon for advice. (if all else fails remember it will always grow back)
I go to Beauty school, I am about to graduate so I might be able to help you.....first of all, you should never color your hair three times in a week, your dealing with chemicals that literally eat your hair. You need a really deep conditioning treatment, preferrably a heated one. I would not put any more color on your hair for awhile until your hair gets back to it's original state. I know you said that you cannot afford to go to a salon, but I would highly suggest going to a professional and letting them see what they could do.

I use Preference on myself and the color really saturates and LASTS for weeks on end. I use Feria on my mom (her hair is starting to grey). Look for a type of Feria in a shiny silver box that is made to give "prismatic highlights" (this will help balance the gery and give a more natural look, not a look that just makes you look like you have grey hair and tried to fix it yourself)...also, make sure that the color you chose says "100% grey coverage" - it's usually in a yellow square on the front of the box. I use Feria #60 for Mom and it's great!
Love Loreal's natural match I've used it and my mom uses it to cover her gray and she really likes it cuz it doesn't look fake like some dyes.

First of all, NEVER use a hair dye that you buy in a grocery store or Walmart anything like that. Go to a beauty supply store... Wella is one of the most recommended brands...and they are safer for your hair (no ammonia) and they last longer as they are the same products that professionals use.... most good beauty supply stores employ people that have had experience working with hair...so you can ask alot of questions and get good answers. I use to use box dyes and then i found Sally's (W. Washington), I started to buy my dyes there and my hair is healthier than when i used box dyes and my color stays in up to 4X longer...that is saving a lot of money believe me!

I have fair skin and gray blue eyes too and I find that using brown eyeliner makes my eyes pop and appear much larger and more importantly much much bluer! I use a light rose colored blush and shades of brown eye shadow...
Blue-Green, Browns, Pinks, and Black %26amp; Gray. I would wear white maybe occasionally. Don't put the blues and browns on really dark, I think the Pinks and Oranges would look really good on you and look good with your hair. It depends on your clothes mostly, like are they preppy, tom-boyish, or gothic, or normal teen style. Preppy in mostly the pink and orange. The tom-boyish would be blues/blue-green. Gothic would be blacks and grays. Normal you could wear just about any color just make sure it matches with you outfit. That'f for eye-shadow. For lip gloss maybe pink or clear. And lipstick is your decision I don't wear lip-stick so I know nothing about it. For skin color, you should test some or compare to your skin color. Don't get powder/ as long as you put it over foundation. I would suggest don't wear bronzer, cuz if you mess up you have to re-do your whole face. For blush I would suggest a light pink/red. And wear eye-liner with the color of your outfit. The white eye-liner looks really cool but don't wear it too often. And if you have long and full eyelashes you could probably pass on the mascara. browns are always a good bet for blue eyes...A subtle look for day would be brown eyeliner just on the bottom and maybe two colors one for base and one for highlighting on the lid and ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS two or three coats of black mascara ...A more for dramatic night look I would recommend adding a little black eyeliner (liquid) On the top close to the lashline and and another darker brown for contouring for a Smokey look...another great tip for a night look is false lashes they make your eyes really pop!

The darker the hair the harsher the chemicals they have to use to strip your hair of its color so although it will not turn your hair gray, it will damage your hair. From personal experience, I used to have dark brown hair and, after dying it blonde for a few years, decided to stop dying it and go au natural again but my hair never went back to being as dark as it originally was - it's more of a light auburn color now. So go for it but be prepared to possibly say goodbye to your dark hair. I agree that maybe you should just try highlights first just to see if you like the new shade.

Use the women's dyes on the market now there are some good ones don't go too dark it will not look natural look for something that says light ash brown to take away the red or maybe go blond it would blend with the gray better and your roots would not be so noticeable.

Yeah i would try henna products. You could also use eye shadow, some people do. Or they have that wand mascara for hair. Just apply on your part and around the temples.Good luck! What about them rinses? Have you tried them? You can get them at the grocery store.

I'm not sure what it it you're alergic to in it but my mom uses Light Mountain Natural "Color That Gray" it is organic and chemical free. It's made with henna plant I think
I have naturally dark brown hair and lots of gray in a stripe (similar to a skunk) and I am only 36, so as you can imagine, I dye my hair. I used to dye it black for years. I am part Native American and the black looked more natural. Problem is that it is horrible to remove. I went to a stylist to get it out and it cost me $100. I can't afford to do that again. I was dying it various shades of brown, (using Clairol nice and easy) and tried a dark brown that CAME OUT BLACK. How frustrating. So I want to go with a lighter color next time, just to make sure the black is gone. The last time, the years of black on top of black were so hard to remove, but since this was one application, I am hoping I can get it out. I am waiting until it has been the usual 6 weeks.
So my question is, using the home kits, does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get the black out and go with a lighter color? Preferably with as little damage to my hair as possible. I would prefer a carmel or auburn.

Im a hair stylist and I can tell you it is very hard to rmove black hair color from the hair once it is deposited. Alot of over the counter hair color has metalic dye in it and it is very hard to remove. But I have found that Johnson baby shampoo strips alot of color out of hair but it is very drying on the hair also but you can try it just load up on the conditioner.
Ok I had a Lady screw my hair upppp! She dyed it black instead of light brown she even admitted it so I had to wash my hair with laundry detergent the powder kind and let me just tell you it started stripping the black out so fast...now of course it DID NOT remove all of it but it did help. You will have to do it more than once of course and yes it isn't hate best thing to do to your hair but that is what helped me ALOT! You know just after that use your normal shampoo otherwise your hair will be horribly dry and nasty.
There is a good chance that it will turn grey. The best way to dye your hair from blonde to brown is by using a red filler first and then put the brown over the top. It doesn't have to be a bright red just something with a bit of pigmentation in it. This should give you a nice colour.
WHY WOULD IT? it will b brown if ur blonde hair is natural. if its not natural blonde, get a darker shade of brown to give it more intense colour to hold onto and it will b light brown as ur final result. but not grey
If you don't have warmth in the brown is will look ashy ( green) but not gray. Do a color with a warm undertone ( it doesn't have to be much but you need some)
Im pretty sure it can actually turn green, I was going to dye brown over my (bleached) blonde highlights, but after seeing what happened to my friends hair I had it done professionally, and they put the red on first, like the person above mentioned, which ensures your hair wont turn green lol! I would recommend getting it done professionally, but whatever you choose to do, good luck.
I would say that not to take a chance just go to the salon and ask them to do it you know for a fact they won't mess it up because they are profesional. I have done that before when I dyed it bak to brown it had a grey tint to it so I went to the salon and they fixed it. Hope I helped!

If your hair has been bleached (light) blond from a (very dark to medium dark) brown you may face ash (grey) issues if you use the wrong tint back formula. You may need to fill the hair with a red filler but most likely a gold based brown will do the trick just fine.
If its medium blonde..u will just get a dark blond unless ure going to a salon if u are than no it won't go gray it wont go gray either way

Okay so when I shave my armpits after all the hair is gone there's still this gray shadow. I don't know if I could bleach it or not b/c that might have some strange affect on such a sensitive skin area. I don't know. I just want some way to get rid of it.
yes you can do that. they sell skin bleaching for any part of the body. just try to find an alternative to hydroquinone like arbutin. hydroquinone is carcinogenic.

I think my hair is a bit strange because I don't know quite what color it is. I notice that some strands of hair can be a very light blonde, half of the time frizzy... It sounds like you are still technically a blond! What you are seeing in the sun is the underlying pigment of the darker hair strands. On level 5 (dark blond) hair, the underlying pigment is orange. Hair is translucent, so you see 'through' it in the sun.

It's natural to have high and low lights. As a dirty blond I have many of them. If your high and low lights where both brown (light and dark brown) I'd say a brunette, but because you have blond highlights that would still make you a dirty blond.
The color change over time is also normal. I was completely blond as a child, but my hair has slowly grown darker over the years to it's current dirty blond. If you take my few natural remaining highlights away, I'm completely brunette.
in reality natural hair even black is never one solid color..theres always a slight bit of difference in hues/color...you seem to have natural highlights...its hard to say what color your hair is because we dont have a picture to look at..your saying ur hair is orangey so maybe ur hair has an auburn tint to it...also keep in mind that environmental factors can also effect ur hair's appearance...specially the sun...

Grey would look better. I have the same features, except my hair is dark brown, and greys of all shades look good on me.
However, go with your gut. THe one you are naturally drawn to is usually the one that looks best on you.

I got my hair highlighted friday and it was so light it turned gray. I went to get it fixed and the salonist turned it red. I went back to the same place because they have to fix it for free and now it is redder than it was. I am going today to a different salonist who specializes in color. She is going to put it back to my natural color. Will this make my hair fall out with all i have done to it?
Wow. I know that you want to fix your hair. But I speak from personal and prfessional expeirence: Stop. If you keep dying your hair it will become brittle and will be so dry you wont be able to manage it. When you have to do corrective color this is what happens or what will happen later today.
If your hair is lighter than your current color your stylist will have to strip (bleach) your hair of ALL color. Then apply color on top of it. If your hair is blond and thats what you want you will be applying even more bleach.
However, if you are going to a DARKER shade (reccomended) then the damage will be less. I highly reccomend that you go darker to save your hair.
I did the same thing that you are doing once and my hair literally started to fall out. I felt like I was going thru Chemo. I had to have all of my hair cut off to get as much of the damage off as I could. I hope this helps you and good luck.

I am a barber and I know all about the Grecian formula crap, it just dinges your hair up anyway. It doesnt have to be a men's hair color. Whether you are a man or woman you can use a color Miss Clairol they have a variety of shades and you can get it at Sallys Beauty Supply. Hope this helps.
You need to go to a salon and have a 'patch test' done. Apparently you are very allergic to something in it. They will do the test and then you will know if you should be coloring or not. You could also go to a salon that uses BIOSILK products as they contain NO ammonia. Allergies to hair products can be quite severe and even cause death.

I have been coloring my own hair for years with products from the beauty supply store. I always mix my own color because I am pretty picky about it (level 7 red/gold and a level 12 strawberry blonde). I am finding that these products are getting to be too harsh for my hair and are not covering the grays (even though they say 100% coverage). I am thinking about switching to box color but I am a natural level six and usually end up a level 8 to 9 with a 20 volume peroxide. If not, can I use a different developer with their color? Will box color let me color up 2 levels? Can I mix the box colors to get my desired color? Thanks!
With proper application, these products shouldn't destroy your hair. That's why having a professional do your hair is o important. They can touch up you base and refresh your ends with a non damaging glaze. If you continue to pull any box color or permanent color through your ends every time you color, you are unnecessarily damaging the hair.
Plus, if you want to color grey, sometimes fashion colors can't do that completely. 20 vol peroxide lifts hair 2 levels. The end result depends on underlying pigment, color used, etc. I wouldn't try mixing box color.
I'd get some recommendations from friends and family for a stylist they trust. Leave it to the pros and your hair will feel healthy and look fresh.

I would strongly advise you to splash out and go to a good colourist. From what you are saying, you always go for blonde/lighter dyes?? I would recomend that you try going for a rich mahogony colour. A darker dye will also mourish your hair. Again though, go to a good colourist because whatever colour you try to dye your hair at home, you know yourself, it will come out diferent colours because your hair is different colours at the moment.
A good colourist will be able to give you a colour that will grow out well and you will not have a line in your hair.

First, I would look at the different magazines that are published on the newstand. I would go to a place like Border's or Barnes %26amp; Noble. You dont necessarily have to purchase a magazine because these stores allow you to broze through what they have...and you can even enjoy a cappacino while you are at it!! If you find a magazine that has a hair style you like, splurge and purchase it, take it to your stylist, and wala!! Second, while you are at the store, they also have books in stock in the beauty and makeup section....you might want to take a look to see if you find anything interesting, you never know!! Other suggestions would be to check out your local library on books on hair styles and check out your local beauty saloon....most have books and magazines at there front desk!! I have made a Herbal remedy that has kept my hair young looking and brown for years despite the fact that I am 75 years old.
I take a big bunch of fresh Rosemary leaves from the tenderest part of the plant, put it into a jar with a teaspoon of glycerine and a tablespoon of alcohol (Tequila, vodka, or gin works fine).
I let it age for about four weeks then put it in with my hair conditioner.

I am 35 and started going gray when I was 15. I have been dying my hair for about 5 years but I can't be bothered anymore. I stopped using permanent dyes about a year ago so that the permanent stuff would grow out and now I'm just left with semi-permanent stuff. Will it fade out naturally? Help? I would say I am now about 60 -70% gray in some places.
the semi colour will slowly fade and you will be left with your natural colour.
what i suggest is to slowly go to ur natural root color. go to a salon and tell the lady or guy that you want to gradually go back to ur natural color. this will prevent the look of roots over time bc ur going back to ur root color..once u get to the point of the lady or guy putting on a color that is ur natural color, you can stop going after that bc there is not need to keep going...i hope this helps.
Semi permamnet makes things worse, please stop using those...they are harder on the hair than 100% permanet.

Why don't you get low lights put in and then you won't get a regrowth line.
I would suggest using this product called Bigen. It is a rinse but it actually does completely rinse out. It's an old Asian hair product and it's great for transitioning. I used to use it all the time when I was switching between colors and didn't want to use a permanent.
i dont have any problems with gray hair, but i have been through the process of going back to my natural colour after lots of dying blonde!
what i did was get my stylist to do a colour match to my natural colour (which wasnt too hard as i only have half head colour, so have natural colour underneath still), and she dyed it over my highlights. then i got it cut quite short to cut out a large chunk of the colour. gradually i got there! so glad i did!
It may take awhile but it will fade out, semi perm. doesnt take as long to fade out.

semi-permanent will stay in your hair and will not completely was out.and NO it is not worse than the permanent ones. Semi-permanent will fade off naturally, not after the first wash like temporary colour. But some colour will stay.
I would suggest that you keep colouring it using a easy to use colour kit at home - you are only 35, you don't want to join the silver foxes yet surely!?
Alright, I am having a major hair dillema!!! I am natually a dirty ugly ash blonde, so I had been dying my hair a light sunny blond almost all my life. Well, I bought some hair day that was obviously packages wrong, becasue it dyed my hair like a gray color...I looked like gandolf from lord of the rings!!!! So, the same day i bought some brown hair dye and dyed it like a light brown color. Almost hot chocolate color. Well, it was fading after a few washes back to gray, and I wanted to go back to blonde. Nothing ont his planet will dye this hair blonde again! I have dyed my hair 4 times in one maonth trying to get it back, and it won't dye back to blonde. HELP ME!!! I've never been to a hair salon, is this the type of problem a salon can fix, or do i just have to wait it out? It was permanent. It's horrible, this is the ugliest blonde/grey i have ever SEEN!! HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
Ok, hon, you definitely need to go to a salon now, don't try to do anything else on your own. You have dyed your hair and overprocessed it and now anything you do at home will not come out the colors the products say they will because your hair has been stripped and the cuticle damaged, it will not color or retain color the same way anymore. You need to find a salon in your area which is known for good 'color correction.' Make sure you pick a salon where they specialize with this or you may come out with awful results. This is NOT the time to cheap out on a salon, go somewhere nice. You may have to spend some $ now, but you should be able to find a place that will do color correction for under $100.
go for a consultation first, no salon should charge you for this. Ask any questions you have and bring in the boxes of the hair dye you used, even if you think it was incorrectly packaged, mention that to the colorist as well. They will tell you the cost for the correction and what you can expect. You can get this color out, you might just have to have some color lifting products put on your hair to do it. If I were you and I had time, I would go for at least 2 consultations at different salons, you will get a better idea of what is actually going on with your hair. If you get a bad vibe from the colorist you consult with, if they seem unsure or inexperienced or they don't know what exactly to do, LEAVE!!!!
This is a problem salons are great at fixing, just make SURE you go to a reputable salon (i.e. no fantasic sams) There is no need to wait it out unless you have chemical burns on your scalp, you should be fine going to have this corrected whenever you have time to get down to the salon. Depending on what they have to do, allow several hours at the salon. You will also need to inquire on proper shampoo and conditioner to prolong the color treatment they do on your hair. If you have lifted the pigments out the cuticles will be open, giving your hair a lot of 'tooth' but it will not hold colors very long, so you may need touch ups every 6 weeks or so, gradually the color will fade out slower each time. I had platinum hair before, so i am experienced with this.
This truthfully is the best advise for you, go to a professional this time and let them correct the problem and then leave your hair alone for a while, stop coloring it yourself until the hair you have had problems with has all been grown/cut out. You might also benefit from a deep conditioning treatment when you go to have it corrected. These conditioning treatments return your hair to a silky shiney healty state and are only around $10.
Don't despair, but it is time to stop using home products with your current problem and let a professional return your hair to a sunny blonde again.

i dyed my hair a bright copper colour and i wanted to change my hair colour to a dark purple-red. to do that they had to take out the copper. they just leave it in your hair before they put the hair dye.
you should probably go and get a color stripper from sallys beauty supply and try to take out all the color and then try again with your usual hair dye. also ask someone at sally's beauty supply what they think cause there supose to know stuff like that. good luck

You should have gone to a hair salon in the first place. It would have been done right the first time. I bet you've spent just as much money on all the extra hair dye as you would have at the salon.
I have to agree with the other answerers...go to the salon A.S.A.P. You could use a good colorist to straighten out this minor hair horror. In the meantime, pick up some Fanciful rinse if you want to try to cover this up without harming your hair. Fanciful (or similar products) rinse out totally when you shampoo your hair, so you have to reapply after each shampoo, but it will not harm your hair...and will cover pretty well if you get a dark enough shade. Use with dark towels because the dripping from it may stain.
Both my brother and I have dark auburn hair. Lately though we've noticed that our hair is lightening to a more coppery reddish color and less of the brown. His beard to is completely red in spots but dark brown in others its quite strange.

Maybe a change in the hardness of your water. Since your hair is lightening, probably a change from harder water to softer. Hard water leaves mineral deposits on hair that darken it.
It could also be genetic, my hair went from auburn to darker reddish brown at that age. Though water hardness was a factor in that too.
Hair generally darkens for a year or so before it turns gray, but that doesn't seem likely to be what's going on here.
Have you switched shampoos (maybe a new one removes old mineral deposits), bought a water softener, moved to a new area with softer water, done maintenance on a water softener in your home? Maybe even could be a change in your town's water if you live where you have town water.

I've immediately dyed my hair again when a color went wrong. It really doesn't do that much more damage than you've already done provided you aren't using an harsh bleaching product.
A suggestion - go to a beauty supply like Sally's and ask them for a protein conditioner that you use before coloring. Basically, you put it on and leave it for about 30 minutes and then rinse it out. Then towel dry your hair well and apply the new color to your damp hair. I know the hair color says apply to dry hair but this way will help your hair absorb the new color more evenly as well as giving it some extra protection. The more damaged the hair the more color it will absorb.

If the original was an o-t-c (over-the-counter), a couple of days should be good. Using the same manufacturer bu a different color (of course!) would be best as the chemicals won't cause issues.
If the original was done by a salon/professional, make them take care of it - AT THEIR COST!
Continuing to put color over color isn't going to correct the damage that has already been done to your hair. That will only cause your hair to be like straw %26amp; break off. If you can't afford to go to a salon to correct the problem, wait about a week, don't recolor with any hair color that contains ammonia %26amp; peroxide (permanent hair color), use a temporary color that gradually washes out over a few shampoos. Use a deep conditioner after every time you shampoo your hair, don't use a hair dryer, let it air dry naturally.
When I was younger a girl in my class dyed her hair and decided she didn't like the color, so she re-dyed it a couple of days later and it turned this awful shade of green. I would make an appointment at a hair salon and have it done professionally. i know that's kinda pricey, but I wouldn't dink around with my hair if there's a chance it would end up really awful or maybe even falling out.
Personally I would just re-dye it right away because if you wait, your hair will repair and when you dye it again, it will just damange all over again, which makes no sense why you waited. When you dye it, your hair gets dry and if you wait for it to repair, it will get soft again right? Then when you re-dye it, it will just damange again. i would do it as soon as possible so you can spend time taking care and repairing the hair you damanged AFTER fixing your color.

The closer you stick to your natural color, the easier it will be to keep up... But I think blond highlights on brown hair are very pretty!!
I wouldn't do anything too drastic to your hair coloring. I would suggest staying brunette and adding blonde highlights, i have dark brown hair and i recently got blonde highlights and it looks quite nice (: You could even try multitones and have a slightly red base with streaks of light brown and blonde.

What can I eat to prevent premature greying?
Eating seafood is possibly one of the best things you can eat to promote all-over hair health. It is rich in zinc, iodine and protein, which are excellent for the hair. So if you enjoy seafood, make it a point to have fish several times a week. Remember that eating canned fish will not give you the same benefits as eating freshly cooked fish. If you don?t eat fish, consider fish-oil supplements.
Iron is good for hair and is found in dark green vegetables, meat and some pulses. If you are unsure about whether you are getting enough iron, include an iron supplement every once in a while in your diet. Remember that too many iron supplements can be bad for you. Women lose iron while menstruating, so perhaps during or after your cycle you can have iron-fortified supplements for a few days.
Eating foods rich in Vitamins B and C will ensure that your hair stays strong, does not break easily, and does not grey early. Pork, vegetables, whole grains, wheat germ, soymilk are all rich sources of Vitamin B, while citrus fruits are excellent sources of Vitamin C. What else can I do to promote hair health and delay greying?
Washing your hair with very hot water or using hair-dryers excessively weaken roots, and may lead to premature greying. When using a hair-dryer, take care not to point it to your scalp. Similarly, try and wash your hair with cool or lukewarm water.
Will Yoga help?
Inverted yoga poses bring a rush of blood to the scalp. This stimulates circulation and enhances hair health. Do the following poses regularly:

I have dark hair. I do highlight and lowlight my hair at hair salon so that the chemical doesn't touch my skull, but it is very expensive to do so. It costs me about $140. I do this every 3 months. But after 3 months, usually my gray is visible and highlight and lowlight fade. Are there better ways to cover my gray without hurting my skin and chaper? I don't want to color my hair at home.

Before dying your hair you should considerthese things like the colors you look good in. Even makeup. I once went red and I had to change my makeup and my clothes. Haircolor also affects color schemes. Take this into your consideration, it will be a whole 180.
