Will going blonde ruin my hair and natural color?

My hair is naturally a really Dark brown almost black ... and i am fairly pale and i was thinking about going a blondish color. Will that ruin my natural color and hair? I have heard about after bleaching your hair it will turn gray is that true?

The darker the hair the harsher the chemicals they have to use to strip your hair of its color so although it will not turn your hair gray, it will damage your hair. From personal experience, I used to have dark brown hair and, after dying it blonde for a few years, decided to stop dying it and go au natural again but my hair never went back to being as dark as it originally was - it's more of a light auburn color now. So go for it but be prepared to possibly say goodbye to your dark hair. I agree that maybe you should just try highlights first just to see if you like the new shade.

No thats not true,

If you die your whole head blond it might have some effect on your hair, but not a drastic one.

If I were you I would die streaks blond, but not your whole head. you will not go gray either way. Your natural hair color will always grow back in time.

why do you even want to go blond? it's not gonna make you sexier, no - blonds don't have more fun. no, it's not gonna make you more popular. i don't get it, if you weren't born with blond hair why dye it. everyone knows how hard and unlikely it is for blonde haired blue eyed babies to be concieved ...so normally a blonde head female is a fake. come on, try something else.

well if you color your hair it's going to damage it. If your hair is dark like mine and grows fast you will be spending over a hundred a month to keep it healthy and looking good. Natural is beautiful. Fake blond is fake and looks pretty yeah but it's not the real you. Believe me dark hair is exotic. maybe you should just restyle your hair and do a shine treatment on it.

First I Have been a dyed blonde for over 10 years and always remember that hot oiling your hair after dyeing is very important to maintain the color and the health. First what you have to do is lighten up your base color to a light brown then put in your blonde and platinum highlights. and that is what you should tell your stylists and always go to someone you can trust and that has been tried before.
