I was born with very fine, thin, straight hair. About 10 years ago, (I'm 40 now) I started to get gray hair. The gray hairs are thicker and coarser than my normal hair, which is probably normal. Lately, I've been finding hair on my head that is darker and coarser, mostly in the crown area. I've known two friends who had their hair change texture. One had straight hair until her mother cut it short and it grew in curly. My other friend had wavy hair until she got a perm and it stayed curly. Could my hair be changing its texture?
Can your hair change its texture?
Sure, it's largely affected by hormones. My hair was the "heavy" straight type when I was a little kid and as soon as I hit 11 or 12, it got wavey/curly. I also began to get pimples (albeit, nothing serious) at that time. I'm 22 now and it's beginning to get straighter and my skin is totally clear and smooth. I can only surmise that the hormone spikes in puberty are finally leveling out, along with my hair :). It's entirely possible that as you age and begin to enter perimenopause, hormone levels are changing again!
Can your hair change its texture?
It's very possible. I'm only 17 and my hair used to be straight, then puffy and wavy and frizzy (ugh!), then went to a slight wavy texture.

Can your hair change its texture?
Yes, I find that my hair has changed it's texture as I've gotten older. It went from stick straight, to beautiful curls, to waves, to waves from hell, and now to waves, but controllable. LOL. So yes, it'll change textures, but make sure you treat those textures different then before. Buy products that was meant for your new hair type.
Can your hair change its texture?
It is very possible that your hair changed texture. I think your hair changes its texture and color every seven or so years, but sometimes the differences are so minuscule that you don't really pay them any attention.
Can your hair change its texture?
Your hair changes its texture about 7 times in a lifetime, so I will assume it will change again. I hope this info helped! ~~Good Luck~~

Can your hair change its texture?
Your body's chemistry changes throughout your life. Your getting into the grey hair now, so yes, some of your regular hair will also change. At least you're not losing it. I'm 42 and slowly watching my forehead change to a fivehead. It sucks.
I also get those wirey grey hairs - like pubes on my head, what the hell's that? lol.
