my hair is naturally blonde and i had light blonde highlights in it but a few days ago i dyed it "light ash blonde" to try and make it one color but it turned out darker than i wanted it and it looks kind of gray. is there any way to lighten my hair at home that wont damage it too bad? i dont want to dye it again because i just dyed it.

My advise is to go to a hairdresser and get them to put a bleach wash on your hair (not as drastic as it sounds), to lift out the ash tones. You will be left with the lightened hair without the grey.

Ok, spend a lot of time in the sun. (Don't forget sunscreen though) and also there is this stuff that you rub in your hair and hang out outside all day and it lightens your hair. The kind I sometimes use is called beachblonde.

Go to a pro....Home hair color is the pits.....you have already put yourself in a position to need color correction....The more you mess with it now, the more it will cost you to have a colorist fix it for you

I would wait for another week or so,when you use anything that says"ASH" I find that that usually means a green or red highlights!Dont ever use that unless that is the effect that you want!If you want the blond effect try using a platinum bleach product.Go to a beauty supply to get this ,they can tell you more!

I definitely wouldn't dye over it. No need for the hair salon - espescially since it's almost summer. There are all kinds of products that you can put in your hair and the sun activates them %26amp; lightens your hair. I once used a product called "sun-in" i think when i was about 12 not knowing what it did. i had a big patch of light brown hair on the top of my head because i sprayed it in one spot. just a forewarning.

GO TO A SALON!!! the only thing that you will do at home is make it worse. Look in the mirror to see what a god job you did yourself, then call a salon to ask for help.
It may just wash out or fade out over time, but it will take just that time. Even the products that are made to lighten in the sun take more than just one day for a few hours. Also you never know how they will react to the color already on your hair.
