Henna and perms don't mix. Henna coats the hair with color, it doesn't actually penetrate the hair cuticle the way chemical color does. While your hair may seem okay after the first henna application, you'll be extremely limited in what other chemical processes you can apply to your hair. The chemicals will have a difficult time penetrating through the henna and you might end up with a major hair crisis such as an odd color or severe breakage. Also, there really isn't any way to remove henna from your hair - you can only wait for it to grow out.

Unless you are opting to use henna because it's a natural (green) product or because you have an allergy to traditional chemical color, you'd be better off staying away from the henna.

Talk to your stylist about this one. Both perms and color are hard on hair. Generally speaking, you are better off working with one or the other, but if you have to do both, avoiding light colors would probably be best, so henna might work.

Don't do it unless the henna is all natural. The fake henna contains metallic salts and would change your hair color to green. Not really a good look IMO. The only henna I used was Ardell Hennalucent and I waited like a month after my touchup.

If you are going to use henna, make sure you buy only 100% pure natural henna.

If you use a compound henna product it might have metallic salts or other chemicals that will react with the other chemicals you have used and cause your hair to be green or other results.

The best way to be sure what will happen is to gather your hair from your hair brush and do a test on that using natural 100% pure henna .

I have never used a perm and then henna, but henna will give you lovely auburn highlights especially on the grey hair.
