I want to go back to my natural gray. Can the light brown I have put on my hair be removed and a platum blond be put on to blend the gray as it grows in?

bleach out the color with hair lightener like ultra lightest blonde and then get your platium in a toner from miss clairol or one of those others .you can get them at a store called sally,s or where they sale them.

They have a product called drabber at Walmart. I always just washed my hair several times with a strong shampoo(be sure to condition)...and that removes a lot of color, which is different if you had bleached it. They have Clairol in grey colors now, too. If you use blonde , you should probably use a light ash blonde instead of platinum. Platinum on previously colored hair is just gonna turn it brassy.

the best thing to do is to go to a good salon which you can trust will do a good job....don't try to do corrective coloring like this at home, you'll end up with a bigger problem!

This is not an operation you should attempt at home. Trying to lighten without the knowledge of a colorist can result in orange or pink results. There is much more color theory involved in lighting hair, underlying pigment starts to come into play. I would suggest that you go to a good salon and get a weave. Remember color cannot lift color(hair school 101) meaning that if you have artificial hair color on your hair then you cannot lighten it without bleach. I have several clients that have made the same choice as yourself with a proper weave(foils or highlights) it can easily be achieved.

Okay here is the best way to get back to your natural grey, you will have to do highlights with no color, the highlights are going to piece by piece remove the color from the hair and depending on the shade that would like (where u said platinum the lightest shade of blonde) you would have to do a heavy foil then slowly but surely you will have no more brown and the blonde with camo your greys until your hair is all grey. Only let the stylist tone you with a P!! they should knwo what that is that way you don't have any brassy or golden tones it will be white. I actually have a client that is in the process of doing what I am explaining. She simply got sick of having to come in every 3-4 weeks for a root re-touch (in a medium brown shade) so she actually came up with the idea on her own to go the lightest shade of blonde on her hair to try to match up the grey roots with the highlights. Now she did admit she wasn't used to it at first so it took her a little while to adjust to blonde but now that the brown is almost gone she loves it. Now I don't know the length of your hair but her hair was at her shoulders but she took a few inches off so that she wouldn't have to wait real long to get all the brown out of the ends. Hope this helps good luck! p.s. you could always strip your hair but it i will be very damaging and try not to let them talk you in to bleaching out your whole head take it in steps so you don't ruin your hair!

Go to a professional! You don't want to damage your hair by putting too many chemicals into it. But yes it can be done.
