Will this be a perminate hair dye?
There're different types of hair colouring products and you may not have had a permanent colour on your hair.
It will be a permanent colour on his hair but everyone loses about 30% colour after the first wash. Colour does fade, but it won't complete fade out of his hair.
Pep.
P.S. Why doesn't he see a stylist? Too shy? A lot of men have their hair coloured.

"Permanent" hair dye means that it won't wash out. The color may fade over a few weeks, but the only way to get rid of permanent color is to have it removed by a professional; or by waiting until the hair roots are long enough and then cutting off the colored part of the hair.

any hair color is permanant. If you mix peroxide with the color or even if it is premixed...it is permanent. The reason it comes out is because it does take a few washes before you stop seeing the color come out. It will fade naturally...and that is why you get it done every 6-8 weeks for some shorter time then that. I have had mine with red, and red doesn't stay in well...you have to keep up on it. As far as him, if you use it...he'll see brown color going down the drain and on the towels for a few washes perhaps but this is ok!! It's not all coming out. And what kinda shampoo were you using my dear? Junk from the drug store helps strip that color out more so.

It may fade a bit, but permanent is permanent and it will not wash out or fade. It has to grow out. You probably had your hair dyed with semi-permanent haircolor; it is less damaging to hair than permanent and does fade over time.
